Despite early dominance CC found themselves a goal down after 15 minutes but continued to pile on the pressure and got their reward just before half time with a goal from Colm Ayres. Just after the restart, Saif Ijaz pounced on a ball in the penalty box to give Celtic a deserved 2-1 lead. Back came Greystones and in a rare breakaway, they pulled themselves back to 2-2 .
 
However Celtic dug in and continued to dominate the game and goals from Colm Ayres (again), Jonathan Mc Adam, and Liam O Malley, in the final 20 minutes sealed a well deserved win in difficult weather conditions.
