11B Sat: Abdul Rasheed grabs late equaliser for Celtic away to St Kevin's Boys. 1-1
11C1 Sat: Celtic travelled to Sundrive Park for their game v St Teresa's. Despite goals from Cillian Dockry after the ball rebounded off the post and another from Tyler McCarthy, it was the Saints who came out on top. Man of the match was Fred Mutawe who kept his team in this game for long spells. 2-7
11D1 Sat: Celtic kickstart their season with win away to Booth Road Celtic. The home side were unlucky not to register a score as they shaved the woodwork a number of times as well as seeing a penalty whizz by the angle of the crossbar and post. In fairness, Celtic did well to take their chances that saw hat tricks for Sadjo Barry and James Cremin. Andrew Maguire, always keen to create, struck late to get on the scoresheet. Dawide Nycz was disciplined throughout in his role in front of the back-2. Joe Martin was assured with his trusty left foot setting up attacks. Oliver Moore (no not Olly Murs who does not play for us, yet) was in great form and must be awarded the man of the match accolade for his timely tackling, and for his forays into the opponents' box (a la Chris Lawlor of 1970s Liverpool Greats fame). Marcus Clinton, who worried his team mates before the game as reports came through that he was lost in Clondalkin, finally arrived and put in a superb performance. When he picked up passes from Joe, it generally meant trouble for the home team. He was close to taking the man of the match award. Sealing up the defence was Niall Maloney in goal who didn't put a foot wrong, dealing with everything that Booth Road Celtic threw at him. Well done boys. Back to training Monday 6pm, and we can continue our programme to develop our skills. match action
12A Sat: Share of the spoils with Peamount Utd. 2-2 read on
12C Sat: Well done all in a battle against all odds and thanks to Christian Larini for stepping in when we went down to 7 men, following two injuries before half time.
Anyway, there were lots of great saves by James Whooley who was kept on his toes today. Two of the goals went in when we were down to 8 or 7 kids, the defenders did brilliantly with Ayaan, Dylan, Daragh, Kalin and Sean Hosford doing a stunning job, in mid and up front we had Freddie, Aaron, Aidan, Christian and Sean larini who got the two goals in quick succession, the opposition were stunned! Well done guys in a very tough match you did brilliantly! Final result 3:2 to Dingle Utd who were sportsmen in allowing us to do 8 vs 8 for the second half.
14A Hollywood Cup Quarter Final: In a very ill-tempered finish to this game, Celtic came out the victors away to local rivals Mountview Boys after extra time. 5-3 read on
14A1 Sat: Close encounter in Sandyford as Celtic go down to St Mary's Boys. Hamza Mankour, Ryan McCormack and Alex Moore were on the mark for Celtic, but a blistering blitz in second half saw the home side forge their way to victory. 3-5
14B1 Sat: A brace from Josh Jordan and one from Mateuz gave Castleknock the 3 points away in Jackson Park against Wayside Celtic. 3-2
15Premier2: Celtic in cruise control over visiting Knocklyon Utd. 4-1 read on
