Celtic progressed to the semi final of the Harmon Cup with a decisive 6-1 victory over McKelvey Celtic
In Finglas.
A beautiful morning was spoiled when the home side scored with an audacious kick from their midfielder which went into the top of the goal and gave the keeper no chance. It took 20 minutes for the visitors to find their range as they are not used to playing on the astro and with no competitive match since December it was not going to be straightforward. The equaliser came ona the 25 minute mark and the second just before halftime.
Positional changes were made and it paid off as the team were passing, holding the ball and defending well. The home team tired and advantage was taken . T he game was effectively put away after the third goal. This team is now in the semi final of the cup and with the league in their own hands, they are still on track for a famous double. Goals from David Onitiou – Morgan Kynes – Dino Marcu and a fine hat trick from Jay Harper made sure of the victory.
