Great display by the lads again in a 0-0 draw versus Harold's Cross Boys in their first game of 2014. The lads had some great chances to nick it with at least three one on one opportunities in the second half only for the HC Boys keeper pulling off some spectacular saves. The truth is neither side deserved to lose in an appallingly wet Sunday morning in Porterstown.
Celtic put in a great performance with some fantastic passing and strong teamwork. They coupled this with some sublime skills all the way from the first half goalie, David McDonagh, to central defenders Harrison Darcy, Ethan Flynn and Sean Quinlan, midfield dynamos of Josh Anderson, Jack O'Neill and Adam Quinlan to the industrious Michael Wiley up front. In the second half Adam Quinlan went into goals and put in a rock solid performance. Overall it is impossible to choose anyone for the man of the match performance as they all played so well. The season bodes well for the lads in this competitive u10 E1 league as they are solid throughout the whole team and they have the ability to win it based on their display today if they can improve their finishing. But have no doubts they are almost there and they were really unlucky not to have scored. match action
