In the battle of the Celts, the spoils were shared today. Castleknock were playing their first league match of 2014 and they put in an excellent performance. During the first half Castleknock put some excellent moves together and had some many chances. However they found the Wayside Celtic keeper in top form and he made a string of saves. Then Castleknock got hit on the counter just before half time when the ball squirmed by Dylan Osbourne in goals.
The second half was more balanced but there was good pressure from Castleknock again. They finally got the goal their play deserved - the ball broke to Cian da Costa at the halfway line who played it forward to Adam Geraghty - he took it forward into the box and finished it well into the left side of the goal.
Castleknock continued to pile on the pressure but could not make it count. Then at the end they nearly got hit again on the counter but Bradley Creighton in goals made an excellent save.
Well done boys and see you at training on Monday!
