Another cracking win for Craig Shiels' squad as they took on the visiting Wayside Celtic in Porterstown. Wayside fancied themselves after finishing last season strongly as Cup runners up. However, a brace from Saverio Myrtaj, and goals from Alan McDonagh, Aaron Lynch and a super strike from Jack Morgan ensured Castleknock are in pole position after the opening 2 games, resuming in this new year where they left off last season.
Rakim Talib was in fine form at the heart of Castleknock's defence, and he was at the heart of most that was good with the home side's play. But he was shaded for the man of the match award by full back Paul Morgan who put in a superb display of defending and creating on the left side of the park. 5-2
Celtic's Youths 3 team was also on song and they progressed to the 2nd round of the Taaffe Cup with a comfortable win over Greenhills Boys. 4-1
