Celtic can consider themselves unlucky not to have earned a draw in this Quarter Final at home to Pearse Rangers. They fell behind early on to a shot that gave keeper Ethan Hoey no chance. Celtic bounced back and they were level after Oleg Sinkevics weaved his way through the defence before a devastating finish that gave the keeper no chance. Within acouple of minutes however, Rangers were back in front with another sweet finish. 1-2 at half time.
Rangers stretched their lead in the seond half and a fight back looked forlorn at that stage. Celtic dug deep, and they got a goal back through another great solo run by Calum Daly before he shot into the far corner of the net. 2-3. Ethan Hoey was called on to make numerous brilliant saves, and he was named man of the match, but he generously insisted on it being shared with Calum Daly who had also been magnificent. The lads bowed out but could hold their heads high as they had put in a mighty performance that just fell short on the night on a well organised Pearse Rangers who wanted it more.
