12B1: We remember Gene Kelly "Singing in the Rain", well this game against Booth Road Celtic was playing in the rain. We had been promised that the rain belt would move away from Leinster around noon, but Mother Nature changed her mind and chucked it down over Corkagh Park. It didn't dampen spirits and both sides went at it hell for leather and gave us a great hour of entertainment, though in murky conditions with the rain coming down in stair rods. Booth are challenging for the league title and it showed with their finishing and defending. Jerome Powell got on the end of a Calum Daly shot/cross and he found the back of the net, but it was ruled out for offside, though the photo seems to suggest that it was a close run thing. It was high quality play at both ends. In the second half, as Calum Daly raced in on goal and lined up his shot, a brilliant tackle by the Booth defender, reminding us of Alan Hansen, prevented a certain goal. Man of the match for Celtic was shared by keeper Ethan Hoey who was brilliant in goal again, while Gavin Peters showed some excellent skills in the middle of the park. Calum Daly wasn't far behind them as he put in a first class performance and was unlucky not to score a couple.

Great team effort by Celtic in difficult conditions. The lads played to their strengths, with tight defence, high work rate and determined running by forward players.
