15A: Celtic make it back to back wins to start their season on a winning note. Three first half strikes seal second win of the season.
Celtic dominated from first whistle to last at Porterstown on a wet and blustery morning. Scrappy opening exchanges as the players got used to the conditions but Celtic battled hard to get the upper hand and got their reward after 20 minutes as James Murgatroyd caught the Peamount keeper off guard firing home a free kick at the near post from the right hand side of the box.
5 minutes later James Daly volleyed home Murgy’s corner with an excellent finish and right on the stroke of half time it was deja vu with the same combination and an identical goal as Daly bagged his second from James’ corner.
3-0 up at half time and Celtic could afford the luxury of emptying the bench in the second half to get some game time into the lads in the bibs chomping at the bit. Evan Ryan, Cillian and Daly all went close to adding to the scoring but it was left to Peamount to score a last minute consolation. Referee Mahon awarded James Murgatroyd man of the match for his goal and two assists and the coaches shared it with Daly for his brace. Well done lads. We go again Monday. 3-1
15B: Celtic on top in local derby v St Mochta's in Porterstown Park. Celtic led at half time with a superbly taken goal by Luke Petit after he had been put through on the left by Adam Geraghty. The visitors looked like they would earn themselves a point as they dominated long spells of the second half in very tought playing conditions as the wind and rain swept the park, but Mochta's were unable to gain equality. Celtic held on and snatched a late second by Sean Boyle to double their advantage. 2-0
15C: A well organised Celtic proved too strong for visitors Peamount Utd. 3-0
16B: Great squad performance, lots of good individual contributions, and plenty of options to defend well against a good Mulhuddert side, but also create and finish our chances well. 4 goals from Finn Woodger were a highlight, 2 from Ryan McCormick and 1 from Cillian Dwyer. Special mentions to Pablo, Mario and Kristers for adapting so well to the new team. Aspira Man of the Match Kristers Grinbergs. 7-2
