Newbridge Town FC made the 50 kilometre trip to Porterstown for this league game. Their journey seemed worthwhile when they went ahead early on. Celtic hit back with a vengeance and goals from captain Dylan Kelly and Patrick Langan changed the landscape at half time. Langan got his second to make it 3-1 after the resumption, but Newbridge reduced the arrears to a single goal with a fine strike that gave Christian Larini no chance in the Celtic goal. Patrick completed his hat trick to give his side a memorable 4-2 victory.
Excellent today was Alex Murgatroyd who was always looking to be creative with his passes, and was a contender for man of the match.
Also a contender was Marco Djorgjevic who was in fine form and his 3 assists on the day were a major feature of this win. Cillian Murray was tenacious and strong in the tackle that limited the attacking options for the visitors. It was however Nicolai Copimulti who was made man of the match for his industry and combative performance in the middle of the park.
