Celtic Youths-1 hosted Newbridge Town FC but were rocked back by a goal against the run of play after 20 minutes. They hit back on the half hour when a Michael Afuye assist set up Brian Wokocha who shot home from close range.
After the break, it was Sean Ivers who set up Michael Afuye who put the home side in front after 64 mins. Newbridge bounced back immediately to equalise and it was a dog fight thereafter. When it looked like the points would be shared, Michael Afuye was again involved and was in a position to assist in the fabulous looping header into the top corner by Leigh Reilly who snatched the winner at the death.
Donatus Nweke was magnificent in the back 4 that earned him the man of the match award. Andy Cunningham made some important saves to keep Newbridge at bay. This win widens the gap between Celtic and their County Kildare rivals from Newbridge.
