Celtic welcomed Mount Merrion to Porterstown Park for their top of the table clash. Starting this evening game 4 points behind Mt Merrion, Celtic know that they needed the win. It was Victor Ogbomo who made the breakthrough on 10 minutes with a fine finish after he broke through from the midfield before shooting low into the far corner of the net. Within 8 minutes, Merrion had levelled with a blt of winger magic that ended with a shot to the net. Celtic restored their lead when Lewis Kilkenny broke through on the left and his cross/shot was met beautifully by Keith McCormack to make it 2-1. On 35 minutes, Lewis was again involved when he set up Kevin Long to race through to finish with aplomb. 3-1. Merrion hit back to reduce arrears to a single goal on the stroke of half time.
Celtic upped the pace after the break and Lewis again went close when his free kick crashed against the crossbar, but Victor effort was just wide. The game was put to bed 65 minutes gone when Aran Long hit a magnificent goal into the far corner of the net. 4-2, and just one point separates the teams at the top of the table.
