The Charlie O'Leary Cup was a step too far for Celtic tonight at the Transport Club in Crumlin as they went down to a more experienced Mourne Galty FC. Celtic were going for the double having secured the Under-19/20s league title. All the lads can be very proud of their achievements this season, wth Bob Fagan leading his team yet again, this time with Alex Regan in charge of coaching, to another trophy. Full marks to Celtic who battled to the end.
Meantime in Porterstown Park, Russell Moore's Under-16s were in action in the semi final of the Redmond Cup and they overcame a sporting but plucky Palmerstown FC. The win was thanks to a fine team performance, a man of the match display by Sabin Ghet, and decisively a Cillian Dwyer goal that gave them a 1-0 victory and a semi final place against Terenure Rangers this Sunday 2nd June at 12.30pm in Porterstown Park.
