2 goals from Calum Daly, including the goal of the game, were not enough to earn Celtic a share of the spoils away in Greystones. Calum had brought Celtic level before half time, but the seasiders struck again before the break. 1-2 h/t.
3 goals for Greystones gave the home side a clear advantage, but Calum had the last word when he met a cross with his right foot that curled into the top corner, a strike that Steven Gerrard would have been proud of. The 5-2 scoreline flattered the hosts. Celtic had battled all the way, from James Whooley and Ronan Wells showing their strength on the ball, Ayann Tausseef, Kalin Doherty, and Sean Hosford who were busy throughout putting in the tackles, Aidan Thom was always working to create an opportunity, while Theo Hennessy's touches demonstrated his skill. A real contender for Celtic's man of the match was Aaron O'Reilly who worked tirelessly, both in defence and in the first half in attack, being unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet. Celtic will get a lot of confidence from their overall performance which augurs well for the future.
