Celtic and Hartstown Huntstown met in Abbotstown for their challenge game after a week of rain-soaked pitches caused this fixture to be relocated to this fine all weather pitch. See Gallery for match action.
Celtic hit 2 fine goals. The first came from Ronan Wells winning the ball in the middle of the park, pushing forward before releasing Aidan Thom who finished with aplomb giving the Hartstown keeper no chance. Celtic's second came when Aaron O'Reilly got possession on the left hand side of the Hartstown box and he beautifully placed the ball in the far corner of the net out of the reach of the keeper. Dominic, Mohamed, Sean, Ayann, and Calum all worked hard throughout, switching between defence and attack. Man of the match was shared between Calin Doherty and Andrei Ungureanu, both of whom worked tirelessly, and on one occasion Calin made a great defensive header to clear the danger as Hartstown threatened. Andrei had put in a huge number of tackles, sometimes getting injured for his bravery.
It's back to training on Tuesday at 7pm in Laurel Lodge all weather pitch where Lee and Daire will put them through their paces.
