U11D1: Excellent game vs Finglas Celtic. A game of 2 halves. Castleknock were slow to start and found themselves 3-0 down at half-time. However they had shown in the first half that they could play some excellent football with great passing moves.
The second half started off very well and an early goal from Evan Ryan got Castleknock going. 1-3. They played some great football throughout the team. Adam Geraghty and Conor Coughlan were looking after things at the back. Bradley Creighton was commanding his box and had a very safe pair of hands - also his kickouts were excellent. Castleknock continued to play good passing football - Adam sent a ball through from the back for Dylan Osborne to go through on goal - he tried to flick it by the keeper but the keeper got a touch to send it wide. From the corner the ball came back out to Dylan and from the corner of the box he sent his left foot shot over the keeper and into the net : 3-2. Castleknock continued to push for the equaliser but had Bradley to thank a few times for his saves. Lee Canavan, Cian da Costa and Ethan O'Reilly continued to run midfield. The equaliser never came but it was not for the effort. The boys can be very proud of their performance against table topping Finglas.
