Celtic hosted the fancied St Patrick's Athletic from a higher division in Porterstown. It was clear early on that it would be a tough assignment for the home team. Celtic decided to bolster their defence with Calin Doherty and Andrei Ungureanu in the centre back positions. Mohamed Dafallah and Theo Hennessy filled the full back berths. Calum Daly was in midfield. Up front we had Dominic Odujebe and Sean Hosford swapping the striker duties. Ayann Tausseef and Ronan Wells showed a great appetite for the contest tackling and breaking forward. James Whooley took on the goalkeeping responsibilities and he as usual was excellent, taking off many vital saves. He then moved to outfield in the second half and was superb marshalling his defence making many vital clearances. He deservedly was awarded man of the match, though Andrei went very close to the award himself for his ubiquitous performance (sorry you might have to look up the dictionary for that word). Finally, well done to Ronan who once again was on the score sheet though this time not from a free kick. He raced on to a through ball from Calum Daly, and he rifled home from close range. 1-4 match action
