Nomah Eredianu's strike on 21 mins set Celtic on their way in this home game against Drogheda Boys who started the day level in the Scoreweek league table. By the end of the game, Celtic had shown the significant difference between the sides in reality. Nomah's goal followed a succession of some 12 passes that culminated in the striker applying the finishing touches as the ball was whipped across the goal. 9 mins later it was Vilius Labutus who pressured the defence into losing possession and he rounded the keeper before making it 2-0 at half half time.
The second half was more of the same and Celtic piled on the pressure. Ciaran McGarry made it 3-0 on 55 mins. Another quarter hour passed before Michael McDonald got his reward for his persistence. He broke into the box and beat the keeper at the near post. Aaron Lynch took his chance on 71 mins, breaking free on the right side of the box before beating the keeper with his shot.
The scoreline was an accurate reflection of the respective capabilities of the sides. Footballing was very much the winner which will put Celtic top fo the table for Christmas when their points total is reflected in the league table, and keeps them on course of league promotions in successive seasons. match action
