Hugely entertaining game on the HHFC all weather pitch with Castleknock taking all 3 points to keep in touch with the league leaders Drumcondra .
The surface allowed for some lovely passing movements and CC could have had 2 goals in the first five minutes when Kelvin and Ahmed both came close to scoring. Celtic continued to win the midfield battle and most of the play was in the HHFC half , but despite dominance Celtic could not make the breakthrough. Half time talk from the coaches was to encourage more of the same and keep passing the ball .
Second half saw HHFC make some positional switches and come more in to the game but it was Celtic who made the breakthrough when Kelvin outpaced the center back and in a one on one with the keeper found the corner of the net , 1-0 to CC. Shortly after that HHFC equalised following a fine move which saw them break from their own half and again in a one on one with Matthew found the net 1-1 and game on . Credit to the Celtic players they dug deep and with great commitment and fight for every ball got themselves back in front when Henry pounced on a loose ball in the goalmouth to put CC back in front 2-1. It was then backs to the wall stuff as HHFC came with everything and were awarded a penalty which was brilliantly saved by Matthew who had taken over from Saif at half time . Despite playing a 40 min second half CC held on for a great 3 points and keeps them in contention at the top end of the league. Difficult to pick a man of the match so well done , Matthew , Saif , Alex , Jack, Ryan , Donatus, Henry, Luke , Jordan, Colm , Ahmed , Jonathan , Kelvin , and Liam.
