Celtic got their league campaign underway in Blanchardstown Institute of Technology. Unfortunately they went down 2-4 to Grange Utd despite having led 2-0 with goals from Joey Crampton after Steve O'Callaghan had hit the post, and a second from Steve himself after a fabulous run and cross from David Costello. A great save by the Grange keeper kept his side in touch. The crucial point occurred 7 minutes from half time when Kevin Keane had his leg broken in two places in a tackle which meant he had to have hospital surgery. We wish him a speedy recovery. Following the resumption, Grange took control as Celtic's composure was unset following the loss of their influential midfielder. 4 goals without reply saw the recently promoted Grange take the spoils.
