Celtic were left disappointed today with their draw against Leixlip. It shows the progress they have made since the New Year. Celtic took the lead through an emphatic penalty from Dylan Osborne. They had more chances but did not find the net and then got hit with a long shot which squeezed under the goalie. 1-1 at half time.
Celtic came out firing for the second half and had a few decent chances. Leixlip had some pace up front and that caused done problems but the defenders were handling it well. Then there was another long shot from Leixlip which took a big deflection off a Celtic defender and in it went -ouch. Celtic went back on the attack and soon got the equaliser they deserved - Adam Geraghty slipped the ball through to Evan Ryan - the goal keeper saved the first attempt but Evan back heeled it into the goal. 2-2
Celtic pushed on for the winner and after a well worked short corner between Adam and Evan, Adam drove into the box and floated the ball across the goal where they defender handled it - clear penalty. Adam stepped up to take it and struck it well but it hit the crossbar - this was followed up but Leixlip managed to clear.....it was not to be Celtic's day.
A draw is not a bad result but the players were a little disappointed. They will be back training on Monday and ready for the next game on Saturday!
