Celtic moved this game to the all-weather surface in ITB to enable them to display their passing game against title rivals Shelbourne. Despite being the dominant team, Celtic remained level at 0-0.
Celtic shot out of the blocks at the start of the second half and were one ahead after 3 minutes following the break. It came from a most exquisite curling shot from 20 yards out into the top corner of the net. With 33 minutes on the clock in the second half, Vilius Labutus weaved his way Messi-like through the Shels' defence and slotted home into the left corner of the net. Celtic were in complete control throughout and could have won by a wider margin as they hit the Shels' crossbar and post 3 times, and when the ball was on target, their keeper was in splendid form.
Celtic are now very much in pole position as they enter the final quarter of the season. Sitting 2 points behind St Joseph's Boys, Celtic have 5 games in hand.
