DDSL 10F: Celtic went down fighting against their old foes Huntstown Hartstown FC in Porterstown. They fell behind 3-0 in the first half as HHFC were in dominant form, as Celtic seemed to be still in slumber land. The manager was asking questions of the time that his team had hit the scratcher the night before, so lethargic did they look. A rocket from James Whooley did pull a goal back before half time. Theo Hennessy in the Celtic goal kept the scoreline respectable with his many saves. However, it got worse early in the second half when it was 4-1 for the visitors. Suddenly Celtic awoke from their slumber, and Callum Daly seized on an opportunity and it was 4-2. Celtic were now much more combative, and they were winning a lot of the exchanges which HHFC had completely dominated previously. James was now in goal and he made a couple of splendid saves to keep his side in with a chance of salvaging something from the game. Aaron O'Reilly seemed to be enjoying his switching role, from performing his defensive role to racing forward to help out the attack. Andrei Ungureanu was now making decisive tackles and shooting when he got the opportunity. Dominic Odujebe was much stronger in the tackle now, with Mohamed supporting him in the middle of the park. Ayann was competing for the ball that was helping to stop the HHFC attacks building. Rad Ameriani continued to link with his team mates as they attempted to make inroads into the opponents' defence. Theo had now moved into the middle from his goalkeeper role in the first half, and he was setting up attacks with his deft touches with his cultured left peg. One of his excellent corners went within inches of being planted in the back of the net. Callum Daly and Calin Doherty were proving a real handful upfront and it was Calin who brought Celtic within a goal of their opponents when he latched on to a Theo ball. Callum was then pole-axed in the box and it looked a stonewall penalty until the ref waved play to continue. This followed another penalty appeal by Celtic in the first half that fell on deaf ears. The game ended 4-3 to HHFC and in truth, it was probably on balance a fair result as Celtic had awoken to the reality of their task too late in the contest. Nevertheless, the kids deserve lots of credit for giving us a great contest full of endeavour. match action Result 3-4
DDSL 10G: Celtic fought back in great style in Porterstown to earn a share of the spoils against Leicester. They fell behind early on to a Callum Cahill goal, but Lucas Chiciu leveled the game for Celtic, before Callum Cahill restored his team's advantage at half time. The second half saw another fine goal from Lucas to give the home side a deserved draw. The Celtic defence was outstanding with Noel and 'Iron Man' Sasha at its heart. There was a welcome return to duty for Celtic's goalkeepers Patrick and Ebube. All in all an excellent all round performance by Celtic against Leicester who had soundly defeated Celtic in the corresponding fixture away in Rathfarnham. 2-2
