DDSL 11D1: Castleknock Celtic 8 Finglas Celtic 0
Castleknock take the league title with an emphatic home victory over the Celtic rivals from Finglas.
DDSL 11C1: Mount Merrion 2 - 6 Castleknock Celtic
Having lost 4-3 in the reverse fixture at Porterstown, Celtic got their reward for an excellent performance running out 6-2 winners away at Mount Merrion.
Celtic took the lead after 10 minutes as Jatin Ramesh beat the last defend and slotted home a lovely goal after just coming onto the pitch. A few minutes later Merrion levelled as Ramesh conceded a penalty which was dispatched with authority. Undeterred Celtic went straight up the other end from the kick off and Cillian Hegarty put Celtic back in front with a well finished goal. 2-1 up at half time Celtic knew a similar level of performance was needed second half and they duly delivered, going up through the gears, but not before Merrion had levelled the scores at 2-2.
A fine performance from stand-in keeper James Murgatroyd and excellent defensive work form Dauda Danson and Ciaran Murtagh kept Merrion at bay and from there on in it was one way traffic as Celtic stamped their authority on the game with two goals from Ben Nolan and two more for Hegarty completing his hat trick. Ben Nolan had his chance for a hat trick also but somehow put the ball wide of an open goal after nutmegging the keeper!
Overall a very solid performance from Celtic with the points taking them up to third in the league with two games to play.
