Cracking start to the season for Celtic., with our first game on the 11-a-side full size pitch format. A few nervous moments early on and determined defending by Hammad & Chuck kept Phoenix at bay, and ultimately the bravery of Sabin Ghet in goal, which led to first injury and the replacement keeper Tristan being used.
Honours even for much of the half until an excellent Brendan Stangu through-ball released Fabian Wolski, who outwitted the defence and let in Klevis Malaj, team captain, to open the account for the season. With Celtic's tails up, it was a matter of time before Great Imole assisted Fabian Wolski for his first of two strikes of the day.
Although Phoenix pulled one back in the second half, Celtic's hard work and determination kept the home side in charge, and Stangu went close twice before Fabian & Darren Samson wrapped things up late on.
Huge credit to a largely newly formed team, and well done on putting all your work on the training pitch into action in this our first League win of the season. Thank you also to all parents and the Squad as a whole for their support.
