Castleknock entertained Dalkey utd in there second league game of the new season.The game started with Celtic quickly finding there passing game and soon had Dalkey on the back foot,Simon ,Ross and Eoghan were playing out from the back and the midfield trio of Declan, Connor and Cormac were competing strongly and using possession well when they found space,,up front David and Chesney combined to good effect.Jessie in goal encouraged the team to push up and Celtic played most of the first half in the Dalkey half of the pitch.Some good link play between Declan and David allowed Chesney get a shot away that came back of the post..Eoin and Danny had now joined the fray and Celtic were well on top..A well worked corner caused havoc in the Dalkey defence but Celtic could not capitilize.The lead goal came 20 mins in.Ross threaded a pass into Davids feet and a quick 1 2 with Declan gave him TIME and SPACE to find Chesney who made no mistake..Celtic could have made it 2 before half time but for some good saves from the Dalkey keeper.The second half saw Jessie come out of goal and Celtic were still readjusting when Dalkey equalized..A corner was not cleared and the deflected into the goal off a Celtic player..this was Dalkeys first attempt on goal..The away team grew in confidence after this and began to take the game to Celtic,,Declan took off a great save and Celtics midfield were lacking a little energy at this point..However in the last 15 mins Celtic got back on top and had chances to win the game with Jessie ,David and Cormac all going close.So it finished 1 1 ..The team can be proud of there efforts and consider themselves a little unlucky not to have taken all 3 points.well done and see you at training.
