Phoenix FC 1 - 1 Castleknock Celtic
The U12A side got their first point of the season away at Phoenix on Saturday with a well deserved 1-1 draw.
The first half was a tight, sometimes scrappy affair but Celtic hustled and bustled denying the home team any space to play and chances were few and far between. The game was scoreless until the final minute of the first half when Phoenix took the lead after a nice move down the right.
Celtic started the second half the stronger team and as the game opened up, got the chance to play the better football, keeping the home side in their own half for long periods. Men of the match James Murgatroyd and goalkeeper Konrad Fecowicz denied Phoenix on numerous occassions with keeper Konrad pulling off several fantastic saves throughout the game.
Celtic got a deserved equaliser midway thorugh the second half when Jatin Ramesh found the back of the net after some nice interplay down the right.
The final third of the match was open and exciting with both teams having chances to win it and a draw was a fair result in this tight contest.
