Following their great opening win after the shortest of pre-season preparations, the second and third games were a learning experience. They faced Shankill today who had won 2 of their 3 opening games. At half time, it looked like Celtic were in for a difficult afternoon. The team talk from coach, Mr Coughlan, had a significant impact, and half way through the second half, Celtic had almost completed a great comeback. Ryan Brady was playing the game of his life, chasing every ball, and got his reward with his first goal, smashing his shot home. Matthew Coughlan was next to strike. The ref awarded a free to Celtic on the edge of the arc of the Shankill box, and free kick specialist, Matt, hit his shot home from the short free kick by Ryan Brady. Shankill got yet another fortuitous goal to put them 4-2 ahead, which appeared to be the killer goal, but Celtic struck back again. Man of the Match, Ryan Brady, was again on the mark and he gave the home side renewed hope, but time ran out and Celtic must look forward to re-grouping at training and to their next challenge next week. All the lads played their part in this game, and while Ryan got the man of the match, it could have been shared with Matthew Coughlan who played well and capped his performance with his important goal.
