After a successfull campaign last year by winning the Gerry Murphy Cup, Paul Mason's team started back on the Cup trail, this time against familiar rivals, Peamount United, meeting them for the third time in five weeks.
A tough match with a lot of action was guaranteed, and so it turned out. Celtic went in front through Jabari C, and it wasn't long before Diamantino M raced forward on the right flank before scoring with a powerful shot. Heading towards half time, Dino struck again to make it 3-0 at the break.
The second half saw Celtic go further ahead through David Onitiu who was playing with an injury for the whole match.
Peamount responded with a goal midway through the half, but David Onitiu again struck for the home side with a magic finish. He controlled the ball on the edge of the box, juggled it over a defender before he rifled his shot into the roof of the net, giving the United keeper no chance. As Celtic switched off Peamount came back to score another two goals which more fairly reflected the game, but it was too late and Celtic go through to the second round of the Hollywood Cup with 5-3 victory.
Special mention to Morgan Kynes who was man of the match and to David Onitiu who put in a special performance despite his injury. On the other side we have to mention the Peamount goalkeeper who probably is one ofthe best goalies in the Under-14s league.
