It was always going to be a hard fought match against the league leaders. But Dunboyne were taken by surprise on seven minutes when Dylan Somesan opened the scoring direct from a corner kick. James Yeskerski kept up his routine scoring pattern slotting one home in the 11th minute. Dunboyne rallied and brought out their sharp shooters, putting away 2 in 8 minutes to level the score before half time. 2 - 2.
Dunboyne came out fighting. Three minutes in they made it pay and Celtic were behind. In a positional change to the right wing the ever lively Liam O'Sullivan made the change pay, steaming through to score after 5 min of the second half. He followed with a second 2 mins later, earning him the man of the match award. Dunboyne continued to press. Ewan Lawson made a critical clearance off the Celtic goal line maintaining their advantage to Celtic. Dunboyne hit the Celtic woodwork before the on lookers had their breath taken away by a incisive run by Khairul Bhuyan from the right back position that he finished with one of his specialty shots from distance. The shot hit the top corner. 8 minutes remained and dunboyne looked beaten. However they showed their character and slotted home another with one minute remaining. Result 5 - 4 Celtic win.
