Celtic took on Leixlip Utd in their top of the table clash in Porterstown in the final game of the morning fixtures as the weather fluctuated between rainy and sunny spells.
Celtic spurned a number of chances in the opening minutes, but their in-form striker Jabari settled the nerves with his opening goal. He soon followed this up with another, and the cloud and rain was forgotten. Leixlip showed why they had topped the table at start of play when they struck back to reduce the margin to 2-1.
Celtic welcomed back from injury their goalie Stephen Mason and midfielder Sean Collins. Stephen took off some crucial saves and did not look like a player who had been away from the game for some weeks. Sean Collins was immense in the middle where he covered every blade of grass. Leixlip did respond with a goal, but it only served to act as a wake-up call.
Celtic had their 2 goal margin restored when Jabari hit the back of the net again, but unfortunately got injured in the process.
It was now the turn of Chris, who also had been out through injury, to exert his influence. His incisive pass found David Onitiu who had the simplest of tap-ins to put Celtic out of sight and in pole position at the top of the table.
