It was not long before celtic had their first few chances, Conor had a shot come back off the crossbar then Gabbi had one saved by the keeper. It was only a matter on time before Celtic scored and it came when Cormac Downes put Conor thought and he out paced the home defence who were playing for offside, he drilled it past the keeper to put Celtic one up. Against the run of play Templeogue were awarded a dubious penalty which they converted to bring the score to one all. The goal gave Templeogue a lift, Celtic didn't drop their heads and just before half time Conor added a second to leave Celtic leading two - one at half time.
Templeogue tipped off to start the second half, Celtic won the ball back with Cormac getting a shot on goal which the keeper parried, the ball fell perfectly for Sean Brennan who was following in and slotted it home to put Celtic three - one up. Templeogue got a second goal with about fifteen minutes to go. Celtic comfortably saw out the remainder of the game. Final score Templeogue 2 - 3 Castleknock Celtic
