Another great win for Celtic U11F1 to hold their place at the top of the group with a 6-1 victory against Templeogue Utd.
Celtic got off to a great start with some fine passing and teamwork that resulted in a goal after 5 mins by Denis Yaskersky from outside the box that sailed over the keeper. We kept up the pressure and this led to another hard fought goal from Conor S in the 10th minute. Another chance a few minutes later and a great attempt by Lucas was saved by the Templeogue keeper. There was a nervous few minutes when we gave away a penalty, but a great save by Remus in goal kept us 2-0 ahead. Well done to Alex and Patrick who worked hard at the back to turn away some strong attacks by Templeogue to make sure we did not concede any goals. Templeogue did come back with a goal in the 20th minute, followed shortly after with a 2nd goal for Denis to leave us 3-1 up at half time.
Both teams started the 2nd half strongly, and Lucas made a great run in the 10th minute to score another for Castleknock. Towards the end of the game, Denis fired in a great corner kick which deflected in off the Templeogue goalie, followed shortly after by a last minute shot from Charlie to make it 6-1 to Castleknock at full time.
Well done to all the lads – keep up the good work!
