It was a short trip over to McKelvey Celtic in Finglas for league leaders Castleknock against a team trying hard to lift themselves off the bottom of the table. The hosts went one down after their keeper could only parry a shot from David Onitiu into the path of Diamintino Marcu. The home side started to improve their passing game, creating chances, but Stephen Mason in the Castleknock goal was there to make the saves to maintain his team's advantage. It was the visitors who found the net to make it 2-0, after Onitiu headed home a brilliant delivery from a Jay Harper corner. Soon after, Jay got on the scoresheet himself when he got possession on the edge of the box and scored the third with a classy shot. 3-0 at half time.
This result leaves Castleknock Celtic clear at the top of the league table at the halfway stage of the season. There will be tougher battles ahead in their pursuit of the league title.
