Another Saturday, another win for Celtic's Under-14A1 team at home to Ballymun United who were Celtic's victims in the Cup Final last May.
The first half started with Celtic on the attack but the back-4 of Ballymun kept Castleknock at bay, using the offside trap effectively, until Jay Harper struck to make it 1-0. Approaching half time, David Onitiu put Jabari Crichlow through and he made it 2-0 to Celtic at half time.
Celtic increased the pace of the game in the second half and Ballymun began to struggle to match them. Darragh O'Neill, back from injury, seized on a loose ball to hit home Celtic's third. It wasn't long before Darragh was hitting his second following a fine pass from Sean Collins. In the closing stages of the match after another great pass from Sean Collins, David Onitiu was on hand to complete the scoring for Celtic. The result leaves Celtic top of the tree at Christmas and looking forward to a title charge in the New Year.
A special mention to Lawrenz Uy who played his last match for the club as he is moving abroad. Thanks Lawrenz, and his brother Francis Albert, for their loyalty to Castleknock Celtic over recent years. We wish them the best of luck from all of us.
