After the awful gale-driven rain the previous day, it was a lovely but very windy morning in Porterstown for Celtic taking on Celbridge Town who had shared the top spot in the 15A1 league with Wayside at start of play. The wind was to play a significant role, with the side playing with the wind scoring the goals.
Andy Murphy was again the man on the mark for Celtic as he has been for more years than we care to remember. Man of the match Tameen Chaal was the provider of the first for Andy. The second that came before half time was created by Matthew O'Rourke. 2-0 at half time.
The second half saw Celbridge reduce the deficit, and they went close on a number of occasions, including one strike that was pushed around the post brilliantly by Oisin O'Donoghue. Frustration was to have a significant impact when 2 of their players were given their marching orders for indiscipline. It was no surprise then that it was Celtic who seemed more likely to score as the visitors struggled with their reduced numbers, and Andy Murphy was within a whisker of completing his hat trick.
