This was a significant result for Celtic which showed their progress. Their previous record with Dundrum FC: 1 win, 1 loss and 1 draw.
Rei Mulligan was again in goals. In defence, Conor Lawless, Joseph Dunne, Ahmad Niazi, who all put in solid performances and were comfortable with the ball. Big Ren was stopping the opposition in their tracks in midfield, while Ruben was proving a hard opponent to get by. Kleo Malaj, Dylan Ibitoya and Alvaro Moreno were battling hard. Pedro Moreno on right wing was delivering numerous crosses into their box to the front men, including James Bannerman. There were a lot of near misses, but no end product. 0-0 half time .
2nd half. The Celtic defence came under severe pressure for the first 15 mins but didn't cave in. Daniel Ibitoya came on to reinforce midfield. James Bannerman finally got the breakthrough for Celtic with his shot 15m out that looped over the keeper and in for the first goal. 5 minutes later, James picked up the ball at the halfway line, beat 3 players, and then shot and scored, yes it must be a contender for goal of the season. Only pity is that we were not all there to see it. There was a palpable sense of relief among the Celtic management and players as the pressure was now off. With 5 mins to go, Dylan harassed the Dundrum centre back, the ball went to their keeper, and Dylan kept going in on keeper who spilt the ball. Dylan seized on it, and due to his great perseverance, he tapped in to ensure the victory. 3-0. Well done to all for serving up a lot of entertainment on a lovely autumn morning.
