Celtic bounced back from their defeat to Mount Merrion with victory in local derby against St Mochta's FC. It is hard to pick out a man of the match, but Denis Diac in the defence must be a contender for his uncompromising tackling and covering. Another contender is Edward Nuzum who was all over the pitch, defending resolutely and scoring in both halves at either end. Ethan also was showing his versatility, having started as a striker, he also put in a shift at the back in the second half. Patrick was full of running and the opposition had no answer to him, as he added to his season's goal tally. Daniel had made sure with crucial saves that his side remained ahead at the break. Sam had been feeling under the weather in the run-up to the game, but he showed few side effects and did a fine job of defending. Anthony made sure that many of the opposition's attacks were stifled, and he went close to scoring in the first half. Michael was having one of his best games and he also went close to increasing his goal tally for this season. Matei whose preparation for the game had been upset pre-match showed 100 per cent commitment. Gavin was also one who continues to improve and he capped his performance with a brace of goals, including a penalty after he had been felled as he was about to strike at goal. Finally Brierton Murphy was carrying out midfield and defensive duties and he won most of his challenges. The goal of the day for Celtic is a toss-up between Patrick's shot from 30 metres out on the left side of the park, and Edward's dribble from his own half before he struck the ball sweetly into the net. St Mochta's goals were sweet too, the first from Robert Ungureanu and the second from Nathan Cleverdon. Well done boys and see you Wednesday for training as usual.
