Castleknock stay top of U14 Major 1 league following a well deserved win at Porterstown. Castleknock dominated for large periods of the first half with Captain Zeke Ikirikpo, David Greenan and John Kane controlling the game from midfield.
Danny Ursu and James Caffrey both went close to scoring yet the first half ended 0-0.
Castleknock continued to impose themselves on the opposition in the second half with the breakthrough finally coming when Conor Watt burst through the Wayside defence and calmly slotted the ball past the Wayside keeper. The Castleknock defence was well marshalled throughout by centre-half Chuck Abianyo, with keeper Eli Ozman at ease coming off his line to snuff out the occassional Wayside attack.
The game was put beyond doubt when John "Juan Mata" Kane scored with an exquisite free kick which found the top left corner from 25 yards out. The victory ensures Castleknock stay top of the table.
