Celtic 3 - 0 Leixlip United
Camara brace sees Celtic back to winning ways
Leixlip United were the visitors to Porterstown Park on a bright and sunny winter morning for this U13 Major 1 clash. Without a win since 1st October Celtic were looking to get their season back on track. The manager decided to freshen up the starting XI and the change of personnel worked well in the first half as Celtic had the better of the game in what was a tight and sometimes scrappy affair. Gentian Ramadani produced the one piece of creativity needed for Celtic to take the lead before half time, smashing in a lovely right foot shot from the edge of the box. Half Time 1-0
Celtic dominated the second half but Leixlip had their chances, only to be denied on several occasions by Dawide Beirnat in the Celtic goal who produced some fine fingertip saves. Dawide, Ethan, Brian, Sam and James were keen to keep a clean sheet for the first match in a long time.
Ben, Ciaran, Adam and Gentian were busy in midfield and managed to improve the teams passing compared to the first half, which in fairness wasn't difficult! Ben Nolan had a great chance to double the lead but headed just over from six yards out after some good play and a wicked cross by Cillian coming in from the right.
Ibrahim Camara and Awwab Melad led the line well. Ibrahim was causing Leixlip problems at the back and midway through the second half he doubled the lead with a wonderful strike from outside the box. It didn't take him long to add his second and Celtic's third and seal the points for the home side, seeing them through to a comfortable 3-0 victory. more match action
Very well done to all the lads.
